Bring Creative Tech to Your Campus

Why Waves & Wires?

Now based in Upcountry Maui, Waves and Wires bridges the gap between STEM and the arts. Drawing on over nine years of experience designing K-12 creative technology and music production curricula for independent schools across Los Angeles, we center our instruction on a simple philosophy: teach students to stop seeing computers as rigid devices to operate, and start treating them as open canvases for active creation. Whether they are coding interactive games, bringing physical robotics to life, or transforming a laptop into an expressive musical instrument, our hands-on programs spark genuine curiosity and foster practical problem solving. Backed by a proven track record of managing daily classroom instruction and diverse after-school enrichment programs, we provide meticulously managed programming that integrates seamlessly into your campus.

Enrichment & Elective Programs

Digital Music
Production

Students learn to compose, arrange, and mix original tracks while treating the computer as a primary instrument. Accessible to all skill levels with no prior musical experience required, our curricula scale across all grades to blend core music theory with modern sound design and synthesis. Offerings range from collaborative, foundational projects in Soundtrap for younger groups, to professional production in Ableton Live and Logic Pro, up to advanced, interactive audio programming in Max/MSP for older students.

Interactive Game design

Coding is taught as a dynamic visual art form rather than a rigid academic exercise. Students transition from passive players to active developers by exploring exactly what makes a game fun and endlessly replayable. The curriculum seamlessly blends creative expression with technical rigor: students design custom characters and intuitive user interfaces while simultaneously learning to simulate physics, manage complex event systems, and control their projects through diverse inputs like cameras or microphones. Offerings scale across all grades, ranging from visual logic in Scratch to creative programming with p5.js and Python.

Robotics /
Physical Computing

Moving beyond the screen, students apply code directly to the physical world through hands-on engineering and interactive hardware. Accessible to all skill levels with no prior experience required, our programs scale across all grades to introduce foundational principles of electrical engineering. Projects range from constructing mechanical systems with programmable robotics kits and building interactive touch interfaces, to wiring custom circuits and utilizing physical sensors to create bespoke digital musical instruments with industry-standard microcontrollers.

Campus Integration & Equipment

Waves and Wires programs are designed to integrate seamlessly into your school’s existing technology infrastructure

1:1 Device Compatibility: Our digital music and coding curricula are entirely cloud-based or optimized to run on your students' existing campus devices (MacBooks, Chromebooks, or iPads).

Physical Hardware: For robotics and physical computing, we can utilize your makerspace’s existing inventory (such as programmable robotics kits, microcontrollers, and electronic components), or we can provide a streamlined, budget-friendly purchasing list to help your school build its own permanent hardware library.
